Spring is here! April sees our dancer's growing stronger and more confident. Staff and students have been working hard and look forward to a well deserved spring break!
Please take a few minutes to read through the Newsletter as it will keep you connected and up-to-date!

April 7th-April 15th
Tutus will be closed for Spring Break. We hope that everyone enjoys their time off.
(Please note that the office will be closed during this time and all communications will be answered 4/17)

Team Auditions

2023-2024 PERFORMANCE TEAM AUDITION! Calling all dancers 7* & up! We will be holding auditions for our Performance Team on April 23rd! *Dancers must be 8 by 10/1/23 DEADLINE TO REGISTER IS APRIL 15TH ABOUT OUR TEAM! -Our goal is to give interested students extra performance/competition opportunities throughout the year. -We have created a fun, diverse schedule that will start exposing our dancers to different performance and learning opportunities. -Our current team is made up of 27 dancers between the ages of 8 & 13, split into 4 smaller groups to give each dancer individualized attention in class as well as on the stage! This year they performed at the Moorestown Holiday Parade as well as 3 dance competitions, bringing home many top awards. They will also be performing the opening number in all of our recitals!
TEAM REQUIREMENTS!- CLICK > TO READ
-All accepted team members must be registered for the Prima Summer Workshops. This will ensure the dancers are continuing to train throughout the summer months and will be ready to start with the Team in September. The workshop is once a week for 8 weeks and dancers will be training in ballet and jazz every week while also learning other styles each week!
-Accepted dancers must also be available on August 21, 22, 23 and 24 (M-Th) for our annual team Kick-off where we will begin choreography for the season as well as take class together as a team for the first time! (Times TBD)
-For the 23-24 season, all team members will take a minimum of Ballet, Tap and Jazz classes. Additional commitments include Technique and Team classes as well as Saturday rehearsals prior to events or competitions. Younger dancers (8-12) should expect to be at the studio twice a week, plus certain Saturdays. Dancers 13+ should expect to be at the studio 3 evenings a week, plus certain Saturdays. Dancers MUST have Saturdays free during competition season (October-March). We will provide a schedule in advance. Not every weekend will be utilized. Excellent attendance in classes and events is required.
**In order to audition for team for the 23-24 season, we are requiring that dancers currently be in one of the following classes:-Starlet Triples 2-Prima Ballet or Jazz-Tap experience is HIGHLY recommended!

Audition fee: $25.00
April 23rd 4:00-5:30 for Ages 7-9
*dancers must be 8 by 10/1/23
April 23rd 5:45-7:15 for Ages 10-12
April 23rd 7:30-9:00 for Ages 13+
*all current Principal dancers should attend this time

-All Dancers need to arrive 15 minutes before their scheduled time to check in, receive their audition number and be completely ready to start dancing when auditions start.
-The audition will be broken up into 3 sections: Ballet, Tap and Jazz. Students will begin with ballet barre, then learn a combination that will be performed in groups. Students may also be asked to perform some skills across the room with a partner. The same will be repeated in tap and jazz. The audition is for all students. If your dancer is not experienced in one of the three genres, that is ok! We just ask that they try their best and have fun!
-What to Wear: Leotard and tights. Dancers may bring a ballet skirt for ballet and shorts for jazz and tap. Hair MUST be pulled back in a neat bun. Please bring ballet slippers and jazz and tap shoes (if you have them). Slippers can be worn for the duration of the audition if you do not have the other shoes.
